Organizer: Laury Riley, 541-408-4338 or [email protected]
This ride is for people who want to go at a pace of 11-13 mph, with occasional stops to regroup.
FIRST meeting point for those who don’t know this area: Aspen Hall parking lot at Shevlin Park, on the RIGHT SIDE of the road, ready to roll out at 9:30am. Look for Laury’s gray Volvo SUV.
ALTERNATE meeting point for those who know where this is: At the gravel parking lot at the end of Tumalo Reservoir Road, after crossing the bridge, ready to roll out at 10am.
From our starting point, we will ride on the paved roads such as Collins, Pinehurst, Couch Market, Tweed, etc. We will NOT cross Hwy 20. The total distance will be 18 miles but there are options for less mileage for those who wish. There are some rolling hills but otherwise flat. The scenery is beautiful with mountain views and horse farms, and there is not much car traffic.
I have not attached a map due to the out-and-back nature of these roads as it is confusing. I will bring maps and explain the route before we begin, and discuss options.
This ride should take about 2 hours, with stops. Afterwards we will go to lunch in Tumalo at The Bite if anyone wants.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
Rain cancels the ride. Any changes due to weather or other factors will be announced on Meetup by 8am the day of the ride. Please check before heading out.
Bella rides are “no-drop” rides and no one will be left behind. In consideration of others, we do ask that you choose an ability level that is close to your skills. If you choose to leave the group by going significantly faster or taking a different route, you have an obligation to let the leader know. When you leave the group, you are on your own.
Non-Bella members are welcome on their first ride without a membership. They must bring a signed waiver, available here: www.bendbellacyclists.org, and click on JOIN. This privilege may only be used once. Guests must become a member before attending a second Bella ride.
