Bella events are for dues current members of the Bend Bella Cyclists. Non-members are welcome on their first ride without a membership but must sign a waiver and give it to the ride leader before the ride. This ride was requested for another opportunity for those who missed it. This ride is for very beginners and a slow steady pace. The wildflowers are in full bloom at Peterson Ridge! Advanced Beginner ride on Peterson Ridge Trail. 10:00 am roll out (please arrive 15 minutes early to get signed in) - back between 12:30-1:00 pm. This 60 mile scenic loop with 2,000 feet of climbing is suited to intermediate riders. Restrooms and water are available at the start. We will depart from the Bike Barn in Sunriver and make our way over to Hwy 40/Three Trappers road. After a steady climb and a fun downhill we will regroup at mile 20. This beautiful loop on Bend's east side is just under 30 miles and has about 800 total feet of climbing, all on gentle rollers. The first 10 miles are on a busier road and so, we will mostly be riding single file. The next two thirds have less vehicle traffic and we can relax and enjoy the stunning views. This is a nice hike, similar to Pilot Butte but not a lot of traffic on this one. It is located off of China Hat Road. It is a gradual hike with a little steeper section close to the top. We will hike to the summit and elevation gain is about 500 feet. The hike up is approx. 35 - 45 minutes, depending on your speed. We will not drop anyone who wants to come.
