Townie Gravel Ride, Beginner or Advanced – 14 miles
May 12 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pm
Come take a lovely tour of Bend, mostly along the canals and trails and see hidden waterfalls. The trail is mostly flat with few hills. The ride isn’t difficult but be sure you can do 1.5+ hours and 14 miles. We will take breaks as needed.
Doable on a mountain bike, but not a road bike with skinny tires.
Meet in the Old Mill in the parking lot across from Athleta. We will meet, greet and talk about the route at 9:45 and roll out at 10:00.
Ride Level: Beginner-Advanced Beginner
Length of Ride: 14 miles
Terrain: packed dirt or gravel, paved paths and some road riding
Elevation: 460 ft
For Safety: Bring lights for your bike, helmet, a rear view mirror and a flat tire repair kit
Be Ready to Roll at 10am – arrive 15 minutes prior for a pre-ride meeting
It is helpful to download the route prior to the ride to see where the elevation gain is located and to be able to know where you are and self-navigate.
Cancelation Notice: Rain will cancel this ride. Look for an update on Meetup by 8am on the day of the ride.
Optional Lunch: We will go to lunch afterwards at Hola or Greg’s Grill or wherever most of us want to go.
