Super Easy Rider MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDE at Phil’s Trails
June 2, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am
Organizer: Laury Riley
This ride is for women who are new to the Phil’s Trail system and want to learn some of the easier trails to ride. Please do not sign up if you have a working knowledge of these trails already.
This ride will be limited to 6 riders, including myself, in order to stay within social distancing guidelines, especially when gathering before and after the ride. Please don’t park too close together. Please stay 6 feet apart and masks are strongly encouraged during our brief pre-ride remarks and rest stops. We will NOT be going to lunch after.
Please meet in the parking lot near the restroom. (Note: The restroom is open but not maintained. Best to go in the bushes!) Arrive in plenty of time to get yourself and your bike ready to ride. We will have a short meeting promptly at 9:30am and then head out on Ben’s trail for about 1/2 mile. We will ride back along the pump track and you can see some of its amazing features (for experts only).
Next we will ride on the Marvin’s Garden trail, then on a doubletrack forest road, then back on Phil’s Trail for a total of 3.2 miles. Here is the RWGPS info for that segment:
Finally, we will ride on the Cascades Highlands Loop trail (3.5 miles) and back to our starting point. Here is the RWGPS info for that segment:
We will ride at an easy pace and stop occasionally for regrouping and discussion. You must wear a helmet and have a bike in working condition with knobby tires. It’s a good idea to wear bright colors and bring a whistle. Also bring plenty of water and a snack, just in case. Dress in layers that can be shed as it warms up.
You MUST sign up to go on this ride. After you press ATTEND, be sure to fill out the “Complete Your RSVP” form with your cell number and Emergency Contact info, then SEND. If needed, please cancel in a timely manner so that someone else can take your spot.
Rain cancels the ride. Check Meetup by 8am on the morning of the ride for any updates.
*****Bella rides are “no-drop” rides and no one will be left behind. In consideration of others, we ask that you choose a ride that is close to your skill level based on the description given of the ride.
If you choose to leave the group by going significantly faster, or taking a different route, you have an obligation to let the leader know. When you leave the group you are on your own.
No guests are allowed on this ride. You must have a current paid Bella membership to attend.
