Ride before the Picnic: Peterson Ridge – Advanced Beginner
September 21, 2022 @ 2:30 am - 4:30 am
Organizer: Michele Briggman 541-788-4445
Plan to meet at 9:15 ready to roll by 9:30am.
Peterson Ridge Trail is a well maintained single track, crossing forest roads, and dry creek beds strewn with rounded cobble. The trail is constructed of west and east legs, with connector trails in between, like a ladder with rungs. The intersections are well marked with numbered posts that correspond with the trail map. The PRT West posts are numbered with Odd numbers; the PRT East posts are numbered with Even numbers.
This is an Advanced Beginner ride. Plan on 6-7 mph average for the whole ride. We will be taking the middle trails when they are available to avoid some rocky sections. This ride is not suitable for beginners. 14 miles and 600′ of climbing.

There are additional trail maps at the trailhead.
Location: We will meet at Sisters Village Green in Sisters at 9:15 am for introductions/information and safety review. There are restrooms there. We will then ride to the trail which is about 1 mile. (Notice that the route begins at the PRT trailhead, but we might as well park at the Village Green City Park as that’s where we will meet for the picnic.)
Route: PRT Loop minimum rocks – A bike ride in Deschutes County, OR (ridewithgps.com)
For safety, a helmet is required as well as a bell or whistle to alert other riders on the trail as needed.
**You MUST sign up to go on this ride. After you press ATTEND, be sure to fill out “Complete Your RSVP” with your cell phone number, your Emergency contact name and their number then hit SUBMIT. If needed, please cancel at least 24 hours prior to the ride so that anyone on the waitlist can attend.
Cancelation Notice: Rain/Air Quality of 100 or above will cancel this ride. Check meetup by 6:30am on the morning of the ride for any updates.
**Bella rides are “no drop” rides and no one will be left behind. In consideration of others, we ask that you choose a ride that is close to your skill level based on the description.
If you choose to leave the group by going significantly faster, or taking a different route you have an obligation to let the leader know. When you leave the group, you are on your own.
No guests are allowed on this ride. You MUST be a current Bella member to attend.
Lunch at Sisters Village Green City Park afterwards for those interested. BYO food, drink and chair. Please sign up for the picnic on that Meetup.
