Redmond to Smith Rock Loop – 28 miles
September 26 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
This is a beautiful, relatively flat ride to Smith Rock starting along the Dry Canyon Trail at Wiegand Family Dog Park, 1429 W Antler St Redmond. There are scenic views of the Cascades as we travel on mostly low traffic roads. We cross Highway 97 in Terrebonne which can be very busy, so be extra careful. We will stop at Smith Rock for a short break to use restrooms, refill out water bottles and have a snack as we admire this amazing Central Oregon landmark! We will then loop around and back into Redmond to our starting point.
This ride is for those comfortable riding on roads with little or no shoulder and with some traffic at times. We will ride at a moderate pace of 13-15mph. For those who want to go faster, please be sure you know the route. Download the route if you can or print off the cue sheet. I will have extra cues sheets available.
For those interested, we can go to lunch in Redmond after the ride.
Coordinator: Mary Fajer 503-369-2914 or [email protected]
Rain/high winds/poor air quality will cancel this ride. Any changes due to weather or other factors will be announced on Meetup by 7:00am on day of the ride or the evening before the ride.
Bella rides are “no-drop” rides and no one will be left behind. In consideration of others, we do ask that you choose an ability level that is close to your skills. If you choose to leave the group by going significantly faster or taking a different route, you have an obligation to let the leader know. When you leave the group, you are on your own.
Non-Bella members are welcome on their first ride without a membership. They must bring a signed waiver, available here:
