Redmond- Smith Rock- 21 miles – Road Ride
April 19, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Organizer: Mimi Graves 541-419-9616 or [email protected]
Mary Fajer will lead a slightly slower (10-12mph) ride at 1:15
[email protected] or 503-369-2914
That ride will post separately.
This will be limited to 8 riders, in order to stay within the Bella guidelines for social distancing. Masks are strongly encouraged during our pre-ride remarks and during our rest stops.
Our pace will be a moderate 12-14 mph since it is early in the season.
Our starting point will be the Redmond Water Treatment Plant
at 3100 NW 19th St in Redmond. It’s at the north end of the dry canyon paved bike path. There is a porta potty available.
We will gather promptly at 1:00pm for a brief meeting and then roll out on the route. We will travel on mostly low traffic roads, however there are small sections of busier roads with little or no shoulder. We will cross Hwy 97. We will take a break at Smith Rock and take in the beautiful view. The restrooms are open at Smith Rock.
After the break, we will loop back into Redmond thru quiet residential areas and ride on part of the Dry Canyon Trail. This is a beautiful ride with many scenic mountain views and an awesome countryside.
It helps to look at this in advance and print it out if possible. Send it to your phone for voice navigation. Pay attention to the elevation profile to see where the hills are.
You MUST sign up to go on this ride. After you press ATTEND, be sure to fill out the “Complete Your RSVP” form with your cell number and Emergency Contact info, then SUBMIT. Please RSVP by 8pm on Sunday, April 18th. If needed, please cancel in a timely manner.
Rain cancels the ride. Check Meetup by 11am on the morning of the ride for any updates.
