MSR: Widgi to Voodoo to lower TTR
June 24, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Distance: 15 miles
Elevation gain: 960 ft
Level: Advanced beginner plus, a multi surface ride(MRS)
Bike: Mountain bike, Fat bike or Gravel bike OK, No E Bikes allowed on the single tracks in DNF
This is a ride that combines both Forest Service roads and single tracks in the area between Century drive and the Phil”s trail system
The single track is pretty easy, a few rocks. The last part which involves TTR (trail with the most rocks)can be avoided by taking FS road 4604 back to the car park
I am calling this an Advanced Beginner + as there is some climbing and mileage although it is technically pretty easy
It will be leisurely paced , no need to rush! You do need to have some already attained endurance to do this trip.
We start near the Widgi gate.
To get there: Turn right off Century drive onto FS road 4604 at the gate. ( You will see the Widgi golf course on the left.)
Cross the Rimrock trail and park in the dirt parking area
We start out on FS road 4604 and weave our way up to Phil”s trailhead on a combination of forest service roads, COD and Marvin Gardens. There is just one tough little hill on the road which you can walk if necessary
We will start out on Ben”s trail, switch to the alternate Ben’s to MTB. Next we go down MTB, then cross country to a little bit of KGB. We will take an old double track road to the picnic table then more cross country to FS road 4610. After 4610, we take FS road 350 to Voodoo. From there it is mostly downhill on Voodoo, Voodoo”s child and lower TTR, then Rimrock trail back to the cars.
