La Pine State Park Loops
May 13, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Organizer: Carol Terzi 541-389-6059
Advanced Beginner ride
Loop 1 Fall River and Deschutes loops 8 miles, 230 ft elevation gain
Loop 2 Cougar loop 4.9 miles, 245 ft elevation gain
The first ride will be the Deschutes and Fall River loops. The route is mostly flat with nice river views and a few rocks. The total distance is about 8 miles. It is a beautiful, easy ride which we will ride at a social pace with regrouping at trail intersections
The second part of the ride is the Cougar loop which is also an easy trail with no rocks to ride and a just a couple more little climbs. It will be more of an exploratory loop for navigation ( I have only been on it once) with a few twists and turns.
You can do both loops or just the the first 8 mile loop
We will meet at 10:00am at the Day Use and then drive ABOUT A HALF MILE to MacGregor trailhead. There are bathrooms at the day use area so use them if you need to but be ready to drive to MacGregor at 10:05
All the loops start from there so if you are only interested in doing the 8 mile loop, we will return you there before we do Cougar loop
Allow an hour to drive to the starting point and get yourself and your bike ready to ride.
Bring plenty of water and a snac. Wear layers appropriate for the weather.
You MUST sign up to go on this ride. After you press ATTEND, be sure to fill out the “Complete your RSVP” form with the information required, then press the arrow button to submit. Please RSVP and/or cancel in a timely manner.
Rain before or during the ride will mean a cancellation. Check Meetup by 7:30 am that morning for any updates.
