Kayak/SUP on Waldo Lake

Let’s paddle or SUP Waldo Lake! Waldo Lake, described as “Oregon’s prime paddling destination” is one of the largest natural lakes in Oregon. The lake’s location deep in the mountains makes it a pristine, scenic place for paddling. ***Photo ops abound!
We will meet at the Shadow Bay Boat Launch at 9:45. Please be ready to launch at 10:00.
Directions: *** this will take ~2 hours
-Drive on US-97 South for ~ 47 miles,
-Turn right onto Crescent Cutoff Rd. for 12 miles.
-At the stop sign turn right onto OR-58 W for 14 miles.
-turn right onto NF-5897 at a sign for Waldo Lake for 6.7 miles.
-turn left onto NF-5896 at a sign for Shadow Bay Campground/Boatramp and stay on this road for 2.1 miles to the boat ramp/day use area. (Total of 82 miles)
You will need:
*Forest Service parking pass
*Invasive Species Permit ( https://myodfw.com/articles/waterway-access-and-aquatic-invasive-species-permits)
*PFD.
*Bring sunscreen, hat, and dress for the weather.
We will paddle for a couple of hours before lunch. After paddling we’ll have lunch at the Odell Lake Resort or Manley’s Tavern.
This outing is for Bella members only.
***Smoke will cancel the paddle. If the smoke is too bad at Waldo, we may move our paddle to Crescent Lake. If the paddle needs to be canceled, you will be notified by 7:00 am.
