Intermediate MTB: Mrazek Out & Back

Let’s ride Mrazek. The Mrazek Trail is maintained by Phil Meglasson (the Phil of Phil’s trail) and is not maintained by COTA. It’s a very, very fun trail and one of my favorites! You can expect lots of twists and turns, tight corners and Phil’s unique flavor of trail design along the way. There’s also a very fun but short swoopy roller coaster section on the ride back.
It’s 7 miles out and 7 miles back with about 1200 ft of climbing. The climbing is all going out …. coming back is a smooth, flowy downhill. Because it’s out and back it is possible to do a shorter version but everyone will be encouraged to ride to mile 7.
We will make frequent stops. No one will be left behind. We generally stop every few miles to regroup and at obvious intersections or forest road crossings.
We will start the ride on Brooks-scanlon road … skipping the rocky shevlin section.
One always has the option of leaving the ride and going ahead on one’s own if timing is an issue. Unfortunately for now, the ride is limited to 6 riders since Deschutes County has gone back to Extreme Risk for Covid19.
Masks required when gathering for our pre-ride remarks, and please stay 6 feet apart then and during our rest stops.
