Gravel Ride – Sherman’s Stroll
August 5, 2022 @ 2:30 am - 5:30 am

Gravel bike ride in Camp Sherman – The Camp Sherman area is one of my favorite places to ride. The scenery is amazing; mountain views, a raging river, lots of beautiful forest. This route is a variation of the Dirty Feehub “Sherman’s Waltz” ride. We will start/end at Lower Bridge.
This ride is appropriate for gravel bikes or e-bikes. No mountain bikes (unless they are e-bikes). E-bikes will have a slight modification to the route to avoid the single-track lake creek trail.
Ride level – Advanced beginner +.
Length of the ride – 24 miles and 1200′ of elevation gain.
Terrain – There is a mix of paved and gravel roads with a bit of single track. The paved part is low traffic but please bring your flashy red lights. The gravel is mixed. We could experience anything from washboard to soft sand so be prepared. Minimum recommended tire width of 40mm but if you ride gravel, you can decide for yourself.
Pace – We will be riding at an average moving speed of around 10mph.
BE READY TO ROLL at 9:30am – Arrive 15 minutes prior. Please take note of the meeting place and how long it will take you to drive as it is a little further than just driving to Camp Sherman.

Picnic lunch after – Bring your own lunch and beverage. We will use the picnic tables at Lower Bridge to have a river-side lunch following the ride. You may want to bring a chair just in case the picnic tables are occupied.
Cancelation notice: Rain/smoke may cancel – check meetup by a time at least 2 hours prior to the ride. API over 100 will cancel.
