‘Faster’ Big Sky-Gosney Loop
June 24, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am
Organizer: Diana Cutler (425) 890-3121 or [email protected]
Diana and Moe are leading the same ride, same day, same time, but at different paces.
The Big Sky-Gosney Loop is a 26.7 mile ride around the east side of Bend. This route is mostly flat through horse and hay country with some short hills and nice views of the mountains.
***The first few miles have moderate traffic and, in some cases, no shoulder so we are requiring riders to have both a rear light and a mirror. Helmets are required. It’s a good idea to wear bright colors and bring a whistle in case of any problems. Bring plenty of water and a snack, just in case. Wear layers appropriate for the weather.
This ride is for women who want to ride 25-30 miles at a pace of 12-14 mph. We will stop occasionally for regrouping. Please don’t sign up if you are a stronger, faster rider, or if you cannot ride 25-30 miles at this pace.
Our starting point will be Big Sky Park on Neff Road. There are restrooms available at the Park. Please arrive in plenty of time to get yourself and your bike ready to ride. There are no facilities along the way.
We will gather promptly at 8:30am for a brief meeting and then roll out on the route.

It helps to look at this in advance and print it out if possible. Send it to your phone for voice navigation. Pay attention to the elevation profile to see where the hills are.
This ride is limited to 6 riders, myself included, in order to stay within the Bella guidelines for social distancing. Please don’t park too close together. Masks are strongly encouraged during our pre-ride remarks, and please stay 6 feet apart then and during our rest stops.
You MUST sign up to go on this ride. After you press ATTEND, be sure to fill out the “Complete Your RSVP” form with your cell number and Emergency Contact info, then SUBMIT. Please RSVP by 5pm on Tuesday, June 23. If needed, please cancel in a timely manner so that someone on the Waitlist can take your spot.
Rain cancels the ride. Check Meetup by 8am on the morning of the ride for any updates.
*****Bella rides are “no-drop” rides and no one will be left behind. In consideration of others, we ask that you choose a ride that is close to your skill level based on the description given of the ride.
If you choose to leave the group by going significantly faster, slower, or taking a different route, you have an obligation to let the leader know. When you leave the group, you are on your own.
No guests are allowed on this ride. You MUST be a current paid Bella member to attend.
