Easy Rider ROAD RIDE: SE Neighborhoods Explorer
June 25 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
Organizer: Laury Riley, 541-408-4338 or [email protected]
This ride is for women who want to ride about 20 miles at a pace of 11-13mph. We stop occasionally to regroup or point out things of interest.
Liz Cooperrider lives in this area and has invited us to meet at her house and begin the ride from there. Please arrive at 9am; we will begin riding at 9:30am.
Her address is 23190 Rickard Road. To get there: Head east on Greenwood/Hwy 20. At the intersection with the Shell Station, TURN RIGHT and drive south on 27th Street for 3 miles. Turn LEFT onto Rickard Road and drive for 4.8 miles, up the hill and look for the Bozeman Trail sign on the right. Directly opposite of Bozeman Trail is the driveway and house number on a post. TURN LEFT into the driveway and Liz’s house is the second one. (When Rickard turns into gravel, you have gone too far.)
From her house, we will ride through the Conestoga neighborhood. There is 1 main hill for those who want to get a view. From there we will ride on Rickard and Billadeau, which are flat roads with mountain views and scenic horse farms. We will then continue into the Sundance neighborhood. Again there is 1 hill for those who don’t mind hills. Then we will return on flat roads to our starting point.
The route is 18.3 miles and it would be easy to add a few more miles for those who wish. We can discuss this when we begin or later in the ride.
If you like, bring a sack lunch which we will eat afterwards at Liz’s house.
Please RSVP YES if you plan to attend.
Here is the RWGPS info about the ride:
You can download this to your phone and it will give you turn-by-turn directions. (If you take advantage of your Bella membership perk!)
Bella rides are “no-drop” rides and no one will be left behind. In consideration of others, we do ask that you choose an ability level that is close to your skills. If you choose to leave the group by going significantly faster or taking a different route, you have an obligation to let the leader know. When you leave the group, you are on your own.
Non-Bella members are welcome on their first ride without a membership. They must bring a signed waiver, available here: www.bendbellacyclists.org, and click on JOIN. This privilege may only be used once. Riders must become members before attending a second Bella ride.
