Easy Mountain Bike from Lava Butte to Benham Falls

We will meet in the parking lot at Lava Land visitor center. The park is about 10 miles from Bend off hwy 97.
We will have a pre-ride meeting promptly at 8:45 am . Please arrive in plenty of time to get yourself and your bike ready. Wear a mask at this meeting and keep 6 feet away from others, at the meeting and at our rest stops.
This is a easy mountain bike ride with approximately 4 stops where we will need to get off bikes due to large lava rocks. There might be a few more places where folks might want to walk their bike depending on their skill level. It’s a beautiful ride through the woods lots of trees. The ride starts with some downhill then levels off meandering through the woods, crosses a bridge and heads to the Falls area.
There are very clean Porta Potties at Lava Land and somewhat questionable at Benham Falls.

The total distance will be about 11 miles.
Helmets are required. It’s a good idea to wear bright colors and bring a whistle in case of any problems. Bring water and a snack, just in case. Wear layers that can be shed as it warms up.
You must sign up to go on this ride. After you press ATTEND, be sure to answer the questions with your cell number, plus your emergency contact name and cell number.
The group size is limited to 6 people, myself and Kelly included.
Rain cancels the ride. Check Meetup by 7:30 am on the morning of the ride for any updates.
*****Bella rides are “no-drop” rides and no one will be left behind. In consideration of others, we ask that you choose a ride that is close to your skill level based on the description given of the ride.
If you choose to leave the group by going significantly faster, or taking a different route, you have an obligation to let the leader know. When you leave the group, you are on your own.
No guests are allowed on this ride. You MUST be a current paid Bella member to attend. Not for beginners but not a hard ride for those who have been riding a while. Please don’t sign up if you are a stronger, faster rider.
