Easy Eastside road ride: The Cowboy Loop
June 12, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Level: advanced beginner
distance: 17.5 miles
elevation gain: 450 ft
This road ride will start at Big Sky Park.
We will meet at the parking area nearest to park entrance
We will roam on the mostly low traffic gentle byways of the Eastside of Bend
First, we will wind out way to Bear Creek road and ride to it”s terminus to check out the large Osprey nest and it”s hatchlings
Then we head North on Bennett past ranches and farms to the Cowboy Calles of Cimarron and Chaparrel
After the cowboy loop, we head onto some of familiar airport ride roads as we meander back to Big sky Park
This ride will be limited to 6 riders, myself included, in order to stay within social distancing guidelines, especially when gathering before and after the ride. Please don’t park too close together. Please stay 6 feet apart and masks are strongly encouraged during our brief pre-ride remarks and rest stops. We will NOT be going to lunch after.
This ride is for women who want to ride around 15-20 miles at a pace of 10-12mph. We will stop occasionally for regrouping. For some it might be the first ride of the season. Please don’t sign up if you are a stronger, faster rider, or if you cannot ride 15 miles at this pace.
We will depart from the Big Sky Park promptly at 10:30 am. There is a restroom there which is unlocked. Please arrive in plenty of time to get you and your bike ready to ride.
