Eastside Airport Ride with Butler Market Detour
May 5, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
Organizer: Marsha Wolfson; [email protected]; 908-578-1922 This ride is for women who want to ride approximately 19 miles at an average pace of 11-13 mph. Please don’t sign up if you are a stronger, faster rider, or if you cannot ride 20 miles at this pace. This is a scenic route on mostly low traffic roads, with views of the mountains, and some livestock. It goes around the Bend Airport and it is fairly flat. We will start at Pine Nursery Park at the parking lot near the Restrooms and playground. Then we will go through a quiet neighborhood out to Deschutes Market Road. Please download the route or have a copy of the cue sheet. We will ride at an average pace of 12 mph and will regroup at major intersections. We can stop at Big Sky park for a snack or along the route if people prefer. Since some roads do not have bike lanes, we will ride single file when there is traffic. It is a good idea to have a mirror, and front white light. Wear bright colors. Rear red back lights are required, as are helmets and close toe shoes. Bring plenty of water and a snack. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions. Here is the RWGPS info: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/35933145
This ride is limited to 6 riders, myself included, order to stay within the Bella guidelines for social distancing. Please don’t park too close together. Masks are required during our pre-ride remarks, and please stay 6 feet apart then and during our rest stops. You MUST sign up to go on this ride. After you press ATTEND, be sure to fill out the “Complete Your RSVP” form with your cell number and Emergency Contact info, then SUBMIT. If you need to cancel, please do so by 6pm the day before the ride, so the next person on the waitlist can be contacted in a timely manner.
