BELLA Hike! Hike Tumalo Mountain (Group 2)

9/1/20 UPDATE: SINCE WE HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE ON THE WAITLIST TO HAVE TWO HIKES, WE’RE GOING TO ADD ANOTHER HIKE. THE PEOPLE WHO AREN’T ON THE WAITLIST WILL BEGIN AT 9:00 AM. THE SECOND GROUP WILL START A HALF HOUR EARLIER AT 8:30AM. THOSE ON THE WAIT LIST WILL BE ADDED TO THE SECOND HIKE. I WILL BE THERE FOR EACH START TO PROVIDE INFORMATION, BUT WILL HIKE WITH THE SECOND GROUP.
This hike will be limited to 6 people in order to stay within the Bella guidelines for social distancing. Please don’t park too close together. Masks are strongly encouraged during our pre-hike remarks, and please stay 6 feet apart then and during our rest stops.
Tumalo Mountain Trail is a 3.8 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Bend, Oregon that features beautiful mountain views and is rated as moderate. We will meet at Dutchman Flats Parking Lot by the trailhead. Be ready to hike at 9:00 am. It is predicted to be a lovely 75 degrees and partly cloudy – great hiking weather! This is no-drop, so no matter how fast or slow you hike, we’ll all meet at the top. I am a consistent mover, with a few stops on the first part of the hike, but I keep going and going.
Be prepared and bring plenty of water, bug spray/wipes, sunscreen, hat, good hiking shoes, hiking sticks, etc. Bring snacks for the summit and take in the views!
