Arnold Ice Cave to Horse Camp Intermediate Mountain Bike Ride
May 15 @ 3:30 am - 6:30 am
It’s supposed to be a gorgeous day Sunday, so let’s do some climbing. We will meet on China Hat Road where the pavement ends (by the cattle guard). Ride up Arnold to the horse camp and down the switchbacks to the swamp wells Coyote intersection and continue the fun flowing downhill on Coyote. This will be an intermediate ride due to the length which is 19.7 miles and 1658 in elevation gain. It is the beginning of ride season, so the pace will be an intermeasy pace. There are one or 2 rock features that can be easily walked or ridden. This loop climbs for most of the beginning in a fairly gently way, then gets steeper the closer you get to the horse camp. Don’t let this scare you, but also be aware you will be climbing.
I have listed the time at 3 hours, but plan to be gone a bit longer as we will stop for breaks. Actually riding time is approximately 3 hours.
Bring water, extra snacks, bike essentials and a big smile!!!!
Be ready to Roll at 10:30
You MUST sign up to go on this ride. After you press ATTEND, be sure to fill out the “Complete Your RSVP” form with your cell number and Emergency Contact info, then press SUBMIT.
